The "WD_BLACK SN850P NVMe SSD for PS5 Consoles" now offers this expanded capacity, with the new model available for purchase exclusively through the Western Digital online store. The PlayStation 5 SSD lineup, initially launched in July 2023, previously included 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB models. The introduction of the 8TB variant enables users to store more games and data on their consoles.
The WD_BLACK SN850P NVMe SSD is equipped with a heatsink specifically optimized for the M.2 slot, ensuring efficient thermal management. It utilizes a PCI Express 4.0 (x4) interface, delivering sequential read speeds of up to 7,200MB/s and write speeds of up to 6,600MB/s. The SSD also achieves up to 1,200,000 IOPS for both random reads and writes.
