This allows anyone with Wi-Fi capable devices like smartphones and tablets to connect to this Enclosure at home or on the go with the built-in 5000 mAh battery. In addition, the Vantec WiFi Apps are available now on Apple App Store and Google Play Store to work with the new NexStar WiFi 2.5" Portable Wireless Enclosure.

With the increasing usage of mobile smart devices in our daily lives, data capacity becomes an issue and to process file-sharing without an internet-ready network can also become an inconvenience. To solve this issue, Vantec has provided the solution by adding the NexStar WiFi to the mix and creating a centralized hub for all types of data and file sharing. In addition, PC computer and Mac can also share files wirelessly over the SMB protocol. The NexStar WiFi is also UPnP capable so media players and media centers can easily browse files when they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network from the NexStar.

The NexStar WiFi App is currently available on the App Store and Google Play Store and is free to download. Some additional features have been added to the NexStar WiFi App for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch such as Airplay support allowing data to be streamed to any devices supporting Airplay.

The NexStar WiFi 2.5" Portable Wireless Enclosure will be available on the market this April.
