There is quite a bit of news for AMD today. Right, let me just say that the AoTS database is probably the biggest database where GPU and CPU info leaks, deliberately or not, who cares. A new entry was spotted and listed, a Ryzen Threadripper 3960X.

So at least that somewhat confirms the naming schema, as to the question as to how many cores the ZEN2 architecture-based processors will get, well the 3960X is listed at 24-cores. And that means the numbering schema of the new Threadripper processors shift a little, which makes sense as AMD will likely go upwards to a staggering 64-cores/128-threads for a consumer and small business targeted product, and this needs to move around numbering to create SKU space. 

Secondly, in the previous news item, you've seen a master product list tagging a new Ryzen 7 3750X processor. However, that list advances on that as there are a gazillion or two Threadripper entries to be found as well in a new spot by Komachi. The list is indicating a TDP value running towards 280 Watts, which we assume is a 64 core / 128-thread part based on Rome. We assume as it is the very same TDP as the EPYC 7H12 with 64-cores. A bit confusing is that the entry is tagged 32C though, time will tell. There is a lot of stuff being worked on by AMD alright.
