The RX 7800 XT Red Devil contains a new RDNA3 GPU with 3,840 Stream Processors, equal to the core count of the RX 6800 non-XT but less than the RX 6800 XT (4,608).
Unveiled images of PowerColor's upcoming AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT Red Devil graphics card offer insights into its technical specifications. The RX 7800 XT deploys a "Navi 32" GPU, distinguishing it from the "Navi 31" found in the limited edition RX 7900 GRE. The "Navi 32" GPU, although a chiplet-based design, is smaller than the "Navi 31."
The "Navi 32" GPU's graphics compute die (GCD) consists of 60 RDNA3 compute units, which translates to 3,840 stream processors, 120 AI accelerators, 60 Ray accelerators, 192 TMUs, and potentially 128 ROPs. The GCD is encircled by four 6 nm memory cache dies (MCDs), each of which encompasses a 16 MB segment of the GPU's 64 MB Infinity Cache memory. This configuration shapes a 256-bit GDDR6 memory interface.

PowerColor has affirmed that the card operates at 2255 MHz for gaming and 2565 MHz for boost, exceeding AMD’s reference clock speeds. The card has 16GB of GDDR6 memory running at 18 Gbps on a 256-bit bus, comparable to the RX 7900 GRE model. For optimal performance, PowerColor advises the use of an 800W power supply with two 8-pin power connectors for the RX 7800 XT Red Devil. The card employs an advanced triple ringed-fan cooling system, heatpipes integrated into the heatsink, and a copper plate in direct contact with the GPU and VRAM for effective heat transfer. The PCB design incorporates a 11+3+1+2+1 phase VRM, facilitated by DrMOS and IMON real-time digital monitoring. Despite similarities to the RX 7900 GRE's design, which uses a Navi 31 XL GPU, it has been confirmed that the RX 7800 XT Red Devil utilizes the "Navi 32" GPU, yet to be publicly announced. The revealed specifications may impact PowerColor, given AMD's recent announcement of forthcoming 'enthusiast-class' Radeon GPUs.
The RX 7800 XT maximizes the "Navi 32" potential by employing all 60 CUs and the chip's full 256-bit memory interface, providing 16 GB of memory with a memory speed of 18 Gbps, resulting in 576 GB/s of memory bandwidth. The Red Devil includes a dual-BIOS setup, with one potentially operating at AMD reference clock speeds. Power is sourced from a dual 8-pin PCIe power connector setup, and the cooler is slightly smaller than the RX 7900 series Red Devil cards. Power to the card is supplied via a 16+2 phase VRM.
Leaked images of the card suggest an imminent global product launch, likely within the next 30 days.
