Sony released some numbers showing they sold 7.8 million units of PlayStation 5 ever since its release last year, the company said in its quarterly figures. In the past three months, 3.3 million PlayStation 5 consoles have been sold.

The PlayStation 5 is still poorly available due to the shortages, which are expected to last until the end of this year. In addition to 3.3 million copies of the PlayStation 5, one million PlayStation 4 consoles were also sold in the past quarter. Sony has sold 115.9 million units of the PlayStation 4 since its release. In the past quarter, Sony sold 61.4 million games for the PS4 and PS5. That was more than four million fewer than in the same period last year. It is not clear how many of the games were PlayStation 5 games.

Sony also saw the number of PlayStation Plus subscribers increase. People need this subscription to be able to play online, among other things. The counter stands at 47.6 million members. That is 1.1 million more than a year ago.
