The monitor features a 40" Ultra HD panel at a 3860 x 2160 resolution. The guys over at pcmonitors actually think this screen is based on a TPV panel. The panel’s response time is listed as 4ms, standard for a VA panel and has a nice 4000:1 static contrast ratio with viewing angles of 178°/178°. A 4ms grey to grey response time is mentioned, the screen comes with PiP and PbP (4-way) features. The rear of the monitor looks like brushed metal and it has 100 x 100mm VESA holes for alternative mounting.
The BDM4037UW has what Philips calls UltraColor Technology for deeper and more vivid colors. Full 100% sRGB color gamut coverage is supported, along with 85% NTSC. NTSC coverage isn’t quite up to par with professional-grade displays, but is certainly above average and improved over previous BDM models. The screen’s flicker-free backlight produces a respectable static contrast ratio of 4000:1 as well as a brightness of 300 cd/m².
Display output ports include 1x HDMI 2.0 port (with MHL), 1x HDMI 1.4 port (with MHL), 2x DP 1.2 inputs, VGA, 3.5mm audio input and 3.5mm headphone jack. There are also two integrated 5W speakers. No adaptive sync support is listed.
