It might be hard and expensive to build a game PC these days, but in times of pandemic, the number of gamers on PC also have risen. Market analysts began to forecast significant growth in the area, with gaming PCs, notebooks and monitors reaching 73 million by 2025.
The projection represents a growth of 30% in just 5 years , and takes into account this year's increase, which is already significant. According to the report, in gaming-oriented PC units alone, 2021 should see an increase of almost 1 million in total sales volume, going to 17.5 million units distributed.
Notebooks are expected to show even greater growth. This year, almost 4 million more units should be sold, reaching 33.7 million units sold by 2025, according to projections. This would represent a growth of 40% considering only these products. Notebooks already have the largest market share and should increase this difference in the coming years.
But it is the monitors that show the most surprising growth, in proportion. A 64% increase is expected in the number of units sold during these years, going from a total of 14.3 million in 2020 to 23.5 million in 2025.
The market as a whole continues on a successful and expanding path, but as we can see in the graphics, PC Gamers themselves will not be the only protagonists. Despite this year's growth, analysts expect fewer units to be sold in 2025, showing a small drop to a total of 15.7 million. Meanwhile, with notebooks reaching nearly 34 million, they would reach an even higher market share, at 46.23% in 2025.
It is worth remembering that these are predictions based on current trends. As the pandemic has already shown us, many unexpected things can happen in a short time and change the entire world scene over the years.
