Intel’s new Core Ultra 200K processors are anticipated to be released on October 10. These CPUs will require LGA-1851-based Z890 motherboards, meaning that many manufacturers are likely to announce their Z890 products around that time. The MSI Z890 MPG Carbon, although not shown during Computex, has been revealed through official renderings, marking its first public exposure. The design of the MSI Z890 MPG Carbon is almost identical to MSI’s previously launched X870 motherboard, which was designed for AMD Ryzen processors. Both models feature three PCIe x16 slots, support for 2.5G and 5G Ethernet ports, and come equipped with Wi-Fi 7 capability. The key difference between the two models lies in the placement of the 8-pin power connector on the Z890.
In addition, the Z890 MPG Carbon motherboard offers a notable upgrade in terms of connectivity. While the X870 motherboard provides a single USB Type-C port, the Z890 model offers two Thunderbolt interfaces. However, the exact version of these Thunderbolt interfaces has not yet been confirmed. The AMD Ryzen-based X870 motherboards are slated to be available by September 30. The Z890 series, including the MSI Z890 MPG Carbon, is expected to be officially released on October 24, in conjunction with the launch of Intel's Core Ultra 200K processors.
