The MEG 342C has a 34" curved ultrawide format and 3440 x 1440 resolution. It has a QD-OLED panel and 175Hz refresh rate. This offers exceptional black depth and contrast ratio, per-pixel dimming for HDR, and near-instant response rates.
MSI's new MEG 342C QD-OLED display is a direct competition to Dell's Alienware AW3423DW and Samsung's Odyssey G8QNB. The gaming monitor has a 34-inch QD-OLED screen with a native resolution of 3440 x 1440 and a super-smooth refresh rate of 175Hz. MSI's 1800R curvature incorporates MEG features including as Sound Tune AI noise cancellation, a KVM switch, smart crosshair, and an ambient light sensor. Alienware recently released the $1400 AW3423DW (with very identical specs: 34-inch 3440 x 1440 resolution + 175Hz refresh rate with a QD-OLED display). MSI hasn't released a price for their new MEG 342C QD-OLED gaming monitor, but we do know it features a 0.1ms GtG reaction time, a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and a brightness of roughly 1000 nits for HDR content and gaming.
The screen will be labeled "QD Premium Color" by MSI and will support MSI True Color technology as well as the proprietary Premium Color Mode. This will contain a wide color gamut with coverage of 99.3 percent DCI-P3, 97.8 percent Adobe RGB, and 139.1 percent sRGB. It is also stated that the screen would come factory calibrated with a dE 2.
Aside from the built-in smart processor, which can be managed remotely via a smartphone, it also has Sound Tune AI noise cancellation. Smart Crosshair, an ambient light sensor, PBP/PIP support, and a built-in KVM capability are among the other features. We have seen no indication of connectivity possibilities at this time.
