MSI is set to introduce a lineup of AMD B650 motherboards and power supplies designed to support the Intel ATX12VO specification in the coming year. This significant move aligns with the industry's pursuit of simplifying power interfaces and enhancing power conversion efficiency. The core objective of the Intel ATX12VO power supply specification is streamlining power delivery. This entails the elimination of the +3.3V, +5V, and -12V power supply specifications, with the responsibility shifting to the motherboard's DC-DC transformer circuit. As of now, initial products adhering to the Intel ATX12VO standard have already hit the market.

Compared to traditional power interfaces, ATX12VO stands out by reducing the conventional 24-pin connector to a more compact 10-pin configuration. This not only conserves space but also elevates power supply efficiency and diminishes power consumption. Key advantages of ATX12VO include:

  1. A notable 30% boost in energy efficiency.
  2. A 23% reduction in power consumption during high-load scenarios.
  3. Enhanced suitability for compact cases, thanks to space-saving design.

Looking ahead to 2024, MSI has ambitious plans to unveil additional ATX12VO-compliant products, expanding its offerings to include PRO B650 12VO WIFI and PRO H610M 12VO motherboards, alongside an ATX12VO power supply.

Furthermore, hardware enthusiasts can anticipate the release of MSI's Project Zero series back-mounted motherboards in 2024, featuring models like Z790 Project Zero, B760M Project Zero, and B650M Project Zero.
