MSI has introduced the Gaming Slim series, a new array of graphics cards designed to deliver a slim profile.
While the focus remains on sleekness, the series won't venture into the realm of flagship models such as the GeForce RTX 4080 and RTX 4090. Instead, the initial offerings will consist of streamlined versions of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, GeForce RTX 4070, and GeForce RTX 4060 Ti.
Currently, the MSI Gaming Slim series exclusively features models from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 40 series. The objective is to uphold the standards of the established MSI Gaming series while emphasizing more compact designs under the Gaming Slim banner. This line is tailored for gamers who assemble setups within confined spaces, where space-efficient components play a pivotal role in optimizing airflow.
The cooling system, driven by MSI's Tri Frozr 3, incorporates Torx Fan 5.0 with a trio of fan blades interconnected by an outer link. This configuration forms a rim that channels airflow into the updated thermal module beneath. Complementing this, the system integrates a nickel-plated copper base plate and up to 8 core pipes at the core of the heatsink.
Furthermore, MSI has incorporated a metal backplate with a perforation to augment heat dissipation and structural integrity. The Gaming Slim series graphics cards also feature "Mystic Light," a technology that harmonizes the external illumination of the PC through Mystic Light Sync and Ambient Link functionalities.
The graphics cards in the MSI Gaming Slim series are available in black and white variants. There is also a glimpse of hope for enthusiasts yearning for a slimmer GeForce RTX 4080 model, as MSI hints at the potential expansion of gaming slim graphics cards based on other RTX processors in the future.
