At Gamescom 2022, Gearbox unveiled New Tales from the Borderlands. The game features a fresh plot set in the original setting, as well as new people to encounter.

According to the developer, this is not a direct sequel to the first Tales from the Borderlands game or any of the previous Borderlands titles. If the action is set a year after the events of Borderlands 3 and takes place in Promethea. We shall meet three losers as protagonists: Octavio, Fran, and Anu, who embark on a fantastic trip full of shady companies, money, and walking and talking weaponry. Players must guide them through a five-part journey in which each choice affects the course of history.

This year's Tales from the Borderlands is set to be released on October 21. The game is available for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store and on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
