The G915 X features a completely redesigned galvanic switch. The original hook-style stem has been replaced with a new polyoxymethylene (POM) cross-style stem. This new design improves the overall stability of the keys, providing a better and quieter typing experience. It also simplifies the replacement or customization of keycaps. In addition, the switch actuation point has been reduced from 1.5 mm to 1.3 mm, resulting in quicker key activation. The keycaps have been upgraded from ABS to double-shot, shine-through PBT material. This change offers better resistance to wear and reduces the visibility of potential oil from fingertips.
Enhanced Build Quality
The keyboard's build quality has been improved by increasing the aluminum top plate thickness from 1.2 mm to 1.5 mm. This enhancement improves the structural strength of the product and contributes to a more satisfying typing experience.
Connectivity and Battery Life
The G915 X LIGHTSPEED retains the original model's tri-mode connectivity options, featuring ultrafast 2.4 GHz LIGHTSPEED wireless, Bluetooth, and USB-wired connectivity. The battery life has been improved without compromising performance. With backlighting turned off, the full-size version delivers up to 800 hours of battery life. At 100% RGB brightness using LIGHTSPEED, it offers up to 36 hours of continuous use, a 20% improvement over the original model. The tenkeyless version provides up to 1,000 hours with lighting off and 42 hours at full brightness.
KEYCONTROL Feature for Customization
In addition to the original volume roller, G-keys, and media buttons, the G915 X introduces KEYCONTROL. This feature allows any key to become a macro that combines multiple commands into a single keypress. Users can transform the numpad into a full gaming command center or combine it with the G Shift key on a mouse to assign a different set of commands to all the keys on the keyboard.
