Lenovo announced the ThinkEdge SE70 edge computing terminal with Jetson Xavier NX. Jetson Xavier NX is packed into a small case that holds only 1.6 liters and is a dedicated edge computing terminal with powerful image processing capabilities.
It will likely be used in places like surveillance cameras, public safety, monitoring and managing production lines, and smart retail. A 70 x 45mm module with an onboard CPU, GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 16GB of eMMC storage. Due to the fact that data builds up on the edge, storage can be increased up to 2TB SSD. The operating system installed is Ubuntu Desktop 18.04.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both supported by the network (optional). The interface has four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports, one USB 2.0 port, two serial ports that work with Power over Ethernet (PoE), one HDMI port, one 3.5mm combo jack, four digital input ports, and four digital output ports. The width is 191 mm, the depth is 128 mm, the height is 65 mm, and it weighs about 1.86 kg. The estimated market price, including tax, is 2100 EUR, and sales will begin today.
