We have that feeling that intel is trying really hard to cut away from the past, the competition from AMD as well as all the vulnerabilities. In that process, Intel will be moving towards a new product identity, including new logos and something called EVO, powered by Intel.
Next to new logos, Intel also registered trademarks for the name "Intel Evo Powered By Core" and fired off a new logo while they're at it, revealing that a new line of "EVO" processors will soon hit the market. Of course, speculations have already started, but logic indicates this will be the final name of Alder Lake-S, Intels first CPUs with a hybrid architecture, which is a new EVOlution.
The logo design with its large and small squares segments suggest that it refer to the large and small cores that Alder Lake-S will use, in a design similar to ARM's BIG.little design (a mix of powerful and energy-efficient cores). Something interesting is that the name "i5" is mentioned, so apparently the same suffixes i3, i5, i7 and i9 will likely continue to be used in the new line. Another patent filed last week also shows a new logo for the company with a gray background and new typography, which is likely to be used alongside this EVO line. Check it out:
