Puget Systems Gives Sneak Peek of Intel's Latest Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 Workstation Processors.

Puget Systems has recently unveiled the latest Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 workstation processors from Intel, which are based on the Sapphire Rapids core technology. These CPUs are designed for professionals and offer up to 56 cores and 112 threads, with up to eight TeraBytes of eight-channel DDR5-4800 memory. The processors are also equipped with up to 112 PCIe 5.0 lanes and have a TDP of up to 350 Watts. Some models are unlocked for overclocking.

While these processors come at a premium, with an MSRP of $5,889 for the top-end SKU, professionals are willing to pay for the expected performance boost. Puget Systems has published test results for the processors, including Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Unreal Engine, Cinebench R23.2, Blender, and V-Ray. However, the company stated that there is still a lot of testing to be done.

Puget Systems also compared the processors with AMD's competing Threadripper Pro HEDT SKUs and measured power usage using different Windows OS power profiles. Despite the high price tag, the Xeon W-3400 and Xeon W-2400 processors are expected to deliver exceptional performance, making them a popular choice for professionals needing high-end workstations.
