Intel is preparing new “KA” variants of all its unlocked 10th generation processors, the i9-10900KA, i9-109850KA, i7-10700KA, and i5-10600KA have been sighted at some etailers. The differences between the “K” models and “KA” are however a bit of a mystery.
From the looks of things they apparently have the same specifications at a slightly lower price. Really it's all the same including base frequency, integrated graphics, and number of cores, so the difference may be their boost frequency, which has not yet been confirmed in any of the listings.
In related news, we already mentioned that the OEM intended 10850 would make detail as well, that one is also list, but again, also in a KA suffix version. Weird right?
Updated: when we posted this news item I received a PM from somebody who would like to remain anonymous, he who indicated this would be an Avengers edition. I completely forgot about it, but in the end, he was right. The KA editions are a Special promo edition of K cpu's for the Marvel's Avengers game launch in September. The A would stand for Avengers. Packaging of a possible KA CPU has surfaced at a Vietnamese webshop, where it is listed as 'Intel Core i9-10900K Avengers Edition'. Although the chip is not called '10900KA', it is probably simply written the same name. It just has 10 cores, 20 threads, a base clock speed of 3.7 GHz, and a boost clock on one core of 5.3 GHz, exactly what we know from the Core i9 10900K.
Update 2: Intel officially unveiled Intel KA series of processors, identical to their K series aside from the Marvel Avengers box branding. Intel is thrusting five models from their i5, i7, and i9 lineups the Intel Core i5-10600KA, i7-10700KA, i9-10850KA, and i9-10900KA. The box artwork was designed by painter/muralist Tristan Eaton.
Update 3: It gets even weirder, the Avengers bundle, does not even include the game as Momomo_US just found out. The game releases September 4, 2020, and is up for pre-order on Steam for $59.99. We're not sure how many updates we need to give this, but it is turning a bit into a soap eh?
