Intel has announced the release of its Core Ultra 2 series desktop processors, codenamed Arrow Lake, alongside the Z890 chip motherboards. The official launch is scheduled for October 10, 2024, with availability confirmed for October 17, 2024. Following the recent introduction of AMD's 800 series chip motherboards in September, Intel's corresponding 800 series motherboards will soon hit the market.

The Core Ultra 2 series is expected to initially feature "K" series processors, with other models anticipated in early 2025.

The "K" series processors to be released in October 2024 include:

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 285K
  • Intel Core Ultra 7 265K
  • Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF
  • Intel Core Ultra 5 245K
  • Intel Core Ultra 5 245KF

These Arrow Lake processors incorporate the Lion Cove architecture for performance cores (P-Cores) and the Skymont architecture for efficiency cores (E-Cores). Additionally, the Core Ultra 2 series will transition from the LGA 1700 socket, used in 13th and 14th Gen processors, to the new LGA 1851 socket. Notably, this generation will discontinue support for DDR4 memory, emphasizing compatibility with DDR5. The 13th and 14th Gen processors have presented various challenges, impacting both motherboard manufacturers and end-users.
