Raptor Lake-S aka Intel ore series 13 processors have been a leak feast. However, it appears that there are more surprises in store. In addition to the PL1 and PL2 consumption parameters, a third mode from the factory will offer extreme power load.

Intel tried a similar approach with the Core i9-12900KS, allowing motherboard manufacturers to optionally override the PL2 consumption level. However, this did not result in a significant change, as the processor was primarily designed for the 241-watt limit, and the extra consumption frame provided only a small performance boost, Hungarian prohardver however now reports the following: 

This concept will be considerably enhanced with the Raptor Lake-S. Compared to the Alder Lake-S models, the PL1 and PL2 consumption parameters have not changed significantly. This is significant, of course, because the new processors must work with the currently available 600 series motherboards. However, the newer 700 series boards are being prepared for CPUs intended for the upper case a mode that ensures extreme performance, with which an additional maximum consumption jumping to around 350 watts!

Intel Core i9-13900K could get extreme performance mode at 350 Watt TDP
