The next gen Core i5 and i7 series processors will be based on Kaby lake. The new series will only offer a relative incremental performance increment. The processors however have been spotted at an on-line e-tailer.
Over at Wccftech they spotted on an Estonian etail website the Kaby Lake Core i7 7700K that can be (pre) ordered for € 360,35. The website also is listing the specifications, which we can now assume to be final at a 4.2 Base frequency with a 4.5 Turbo frequency. That Boost frequency is higher then the initial rumors mentioned. The processor will get 256 KB cache per-core L2, and 8 MB shared L3 caches and has a 95 Watt TDP.
Processor | Cores/Threads | Base Clock | L3 Cache | TDP |
---|---|---|---|---|
Core i7-7700K | 4/8 | 4.2 GHz | 8 MB | 95W |
Core i7-7700 | 4/8 | 3.6 GHz | 8 MB | 65W |
Core i7-7700T | 4/8 | 2.9 GHz | 8 MB | 35W |
Core i5-7600K | 4/4 | 3.8 GHz | 6 MB | 95W |
Core i5-7600 | 4/4 | 3.5 GHz | 6 MB | 65W |
Core i5-7600T | 4/4 | 2.8 GHz | 6 MB | 35W |
Core i5-7500T | 4/4 | 2.7 GHz | 6 MB | 35W |
Core i5-7400 | 4/4 | 3.0 GHz | 6 MB | 65W |
Core i5-7400T | 4/4 | 2.4 GHz | 6 MB | 35W |
The desktop processors based on Kaby will use LGA 1151. The best models will obviously be an unlocked K series processor. The Kaby lake platform for desktops will support USB 3.1 and DDR4. The Core i7 7700K is once a quad-core processor with HyperThreading enabling 8 logical CPUs.
