Taiwan-based InnoDisk, which in-house develops and produces flash storage devices for industrial applications and embedded systems, has launched a PCI Express-based solid state drive (SSD) with transfer speeds up to 800MB/sec and up to 2TB capacity.

InnoDisk expressed optimism about the growing demand for future PCIe SSDs targeting enterprise servers, gaming PCs and military computing applications. The company estimated pre-tax profits at NT$5-6 (US$0.15-0.18) per share in 2009, attributing the year's profitability to its high-margin industrial storage solutions.

InnoDisk said its latest SSD delivers speeds of up to 800MB/s read and 600MB/s write, compared to today's SSD products with transfer speeds up to 230MB/s.

Samsung Electronics contributes 90% to InnoDisk's overall NAND flash demand, according to industry sources. InnoDisk sources Samsung chips through distributor Supreme Electronics, the sources added.

Founded in 2005, InnoDisk offers DRAM modules and flash storage for industrial applications, and consumer flash devices.
