A bizarre turn of events is reported today in smartphone land. President Trump declared the national telecommunications emergency last week to protect the United States from foreign attacks, Google has now taken action and ends their relations with Huawei. 

According to concurring reports from Reuters and The Verge , the company is ending its collaboration with Huawei. Android updates and Google services According to Google, the business relationships have been discontinued in almost all areas relevant to Huawei's smartphones. This is particularly heavy for the numerous Google services that come with an Android smartphone , especially the Play Store, the E-Mail service Gmail or the Chrome browser. Even the operating system itself is affected, but open source: Since the source code android is freely accessible and usable, Google can not prohibit the use of Huawei, but in the future no longer distribute updates. 

 Due to the measures, Huawei can no longer use Google apps and updates. 
Google states that nothing changes for phones that are already in use.
 

Nonetheless, Reuters notes that users of Huawei smartphones already in operation have been marginally affected for the time being. Thus, the Play Store can be used at least for updates of installed apps, even configured services would continue for now. Only the next generation of Huawei smartphones should be entirely without Google services. Huawei himself has always rejected the accusations of espionage and sees their own rights violated.

In another short note, the news is now expanding as Google, Microsoft, Intel, and Qualcomm all are placing a ban on Huawei. The ban has huge consequences for Huawei. Intel supplies Xeon processors for servers in Huawei data centers, Qualcomm supplies modems for network equipment and smartphones. It remains unclear what all this means for Huawei's plans to build 5g networks worldwide.
