Gigabyte is joining the race for high-speed Ethernet and they release their 10 Gigabit LAN card. The unit is based on an Aquantia GC-AQC 107 and can deal with 10 / 100 / 1000 / 5000 and 10.000 Gbps connections.
The card will need some bandwidth alright and as such it has become a unit based upon PCI Express 3.0 x4/x2, PCI Express 2.0 x4.
The network chip used is the AQC 107 from Aquantia and the unit correspond to 10GBASE-T (10 Gbps) / 5 GBASE-T (5 Gbps) / 2.5 GBASE-T (2.5 Gbps) / 1000 BASE-T (1 Gbps) / 100 BASE-TX (100 Mbps). The connector an has RJ45 × 1, cable type that supports CAT 6a / CAT 7 max. 100 m.
The unit is expected to cost 99 USD.
