GALAX has unveiled its latest storage solution, the HOF EXTREME 50S SSD, a high-performance PCIe 5.0 solid-state drive. This SSD utilizes Phison's PCIe 5.0 master PS5026-E26, integrating advanced ECC algorithm technology and fifth-generation LDPC error correction capability.
With a substantial improvement in speed compared to its predecessor, the HOF EXTREME 50S SSD offers a maximum read and write speed of 12,400/11,800 MB/s and a maximum random read/write speed of 1,500,000/1,500,000. Furthermore, the overall performance of this SSD showcases a 25% increase in IOPS compared to the previous generation HOF EXTREME 50 SSD.
The Hall of Fame (HOF) Extreme 50 series SSDs present different capacities and associated performance parameters. The 1TB variant offers read speeds of 9500 MB/s and Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) of 1300K, with write speeds reaching 8500 MB/s and 1100K IOPS. The 2TB model enhances the performance further, achieving read speeds of 10000 MB/s and 1500K IOPS, while write speeds reach 9500 MB/s and 1250K IOPS. The HOF Extreme 50S 2TB variant registers the highest performance within the series, boasting read speeds of 12400 MB/s and 1500K IOPS, coupled with write speeds of 11800 MB/s and 1500K IOPS. The HOF EXTREME 50S SSD features 232-layer NAND flash memory and is equipped with DRAM LPDDR4/DDR4 cache, effectively enhancing data transmission speed and extending the SSD's lifespan. Currently, the HOF EXTREME 50S SSD is available in a 2TB capacity, with a larger 4TB version set to be launched in the future.
In terms of heat dissipation, this SSD incorporates an active metal heat dissipation vest, featuring large-area pure copper heat dissipation fins. The SSD casing and bottom are fitted with double-sided thermal pads, optimizing heat conduction. The metal casing of the heat sink is also silver-plated, giving the SSD an impressive aesthetic appeal.
