Western Digital Corporation announced under its G-Technology brand the Thunderbolt 3 compatible RAID storage "G-SPEED Shuttle". The series was already available in certain parts of the globe in a select number of SKUs and volume sizes added now as well are the Asian markets and an 80TB model.
The G-Speed Shuttle series are based on HDDs, RAIDed and then connected with say thunderbolt. This offers them speeds of-up-to Up to ~1000MB/s. The trick is that WD is selling them in huge capacity sizes, 24TB, 32TB, 48TB, and now up-to 80 TB. The 24 TB version already costs 2199 USD, the 80 TB version you can purchase for a whopping 7599,- USD.
