CORSAIR, announced expansions to its Wave audio product line, including new hardware and software updates. The company introduced the Wave Mic Arm Pro and the Wave Desk Stand, enhancing the range of mounting options for microphones and accessories. Additionally, Elgato revealed Wave Link 2.0, a significant update to its audio mixing application, which will soon be available for both Windows and macOS users.

Wave Mic Arm Pro

The Wave Mic Arm Pro is designed for professional recording setups and studio production environments. It features a low-profile design that positions microphones from below, minimizing obstructions in the user's view. The arm utilizes gas-spring suspension, allowing for smooth and quiet movement without the need for manual adjustments of knobs or screws. Once the counterbalance is set, users can maneuver the arm freely. Constructed with an all-metal build, the Mic Arm Pro supports microphones weighing up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs), accommodating heavy professional microphones. It is available in black or white finishes, with additional customizable hinge caps in multiple colors expected to be released later in the fall. The arm also includes hidden magnetic cable channels and a foldaway design to maintain an organized and clutter-free workspace.

Wave Desk Stand

The Wave Desk Stand is a portable studio arm suitable for creators who require flexibility or are working within a budget. Priced at $59.99, it offers a compact and versatile solution for mounting microphones and other accessories on any flat surface, such as countertops or tables. The stand supports microphones, cameras, and lighting accessories, and comes with adapters to fit various types of equipment. With three pivot points and 360-degree rotation, the Wave Desk Stand allows users to position their microphones precisely. It is constructed from solid metal and can support equipment weighing up to 1 kg (2.2 lbs) without tipping. The stand also includes cable ties to help keep the workspace tidy and organized.

Wave Link 2.0 Update

The upcoming Wave Link 2.0 update introduces new features to Elgato's audio mixing software, aiming to simplify audio management for creators.

Smarter Audio Routing

Windows users will now have access to seamless audio routing similar to that available on macOS. Users can add applications such as Discord or Spotify to any input channel with a single click, and Wave Link will automatically capture the app's audio. This eliminates the need to adjust system settings manually. Wave Link also remembers the user's setup, reducing the need for reconfiguration after updates. On both Windows and macOS, users can group multiple applications into a single channel for easier management. The software now displays an icon for each app assigned to a channel, providing a visual overview of the setup.

Integration with Stream Deck

Wave Link 2.0 enhances integration with Elgato's Stream Deck devices. Users can quickly transform their Stream Deck into an audio controller by selecting the "Add to Stream Deck" button within Wave Link. This action sends the user's Wave Link configuration directly to the Stream Deck, automatically populating it with actions tailored to their setup. This feature supports all the latest Stream Deck models and provides an efficient way to control audio settings.

Sound Check Feature

The new Sound Check feature allows users to fine-tune audio effects such as equalizers and noise removal. Users can record a short sample through their microphone's effects panel, and Wave Link will process and play back the audio through any active VST plugins. This enables users to preview and adjust their sound settings to achieve the desired audio quality when changing microphones or recording environments.

The Wave Mic Arm Pro and Wave Desk Stand are available for order on Elgato's website, with broader availability at authorized retailers expected soon. The Wave Link 2.0 update is currently available in public beta for Windows users, with a macOS version forthcoming.
