While the series will officially launch on January the 9th, it just went on order from the Crucial website. The new MX500 is the new value TLC NAND based SSD, it's very fast though.

The new MX500 will become available in 250 and 500 GB versions as well as a 1TB and 2 TB model. Also in the pipeline are Crucial MX500 M.2 2280 Solid State Drives offering the same speed at 560 MB/sec reads, 510 MB/sec writes (sequential) and 90K Random Write IOPS for all models.

The TLC NAND is obviously fabbed by Micron, it's  the new 64-layer 3D TLC NAND chips. For those that wonder, why no MX400 series? well, the number four apparently doesn't sit well in Asian countries, much like the number 13 in western countries. Pricing is set at 259 USD for the 1 TB model, so yes that's hovering at the 26 cents per GB marker as well as getting 5 years warranty. 

We have a sample of the 1 TB model inbound, yet ran into some shipment issues. So that review is delayed a little.
