Asus has been showing the XG49VQ gaming monitor. As derived from the model, this is a screen with a  49 inches (124.46 cm) diagonal. The monitor will be a RoG Strix product loaded with multiple gaming-related functions.

The curved panel is setup in a 32:9 ratio gets a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. The resolution of the screen is 3840 x 1080 pixels, and it has received FreeSync 2 certification and Vesa's DisplayHDR 400 certification. The XG49VQ covers 125 percent of the sRGB color space.

The monitor's ultra-high 144Hz maximum refresh rate should please many gamers. ASUS' Shadow Boost technology should also allow gamers to see players in darker areas of competitive first-person shooters more easily. "It's not cheating, just good design," said the company's gaming rep.
