ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today has its Break All limitEvents announced a groundbreaking new generation of Intel®-based motherboards. For the first time, gamers can take advantage of DDR5 memory modules and PCIe® 5.0 devices, as well as Intel® Core ™ CPUs, which have been developed from the ground up with up to 16 cores and 24 threads. In order to be prepared for these fundamentally new technologies, the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme, Extreme Glacial, Apex and other Z690 ASUS motherboards are equipped with a state-of-the-art power supply that responds in fractions of a second to the voltage and frequency changes introduced by the Intel Alder Lake platform can react so that these powerful new processors can operate at their maximum performance and efficiency.

In addition, the Z690 ROG motherboards come with an exclusive new feature called ASUS Extended Memory Profiles (AEMP). With AEMP, the clock rates and timings of DDR5 memory modules can be increased beyond the official limit values through a simple setting in the BIOS in order to get the last bit of performance out. This function is made possible by activating the voltage management on the Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC), a technology that did not exist in previous generations of DDR RAM. ASUS has also partnered with leading DDR5 manufacturers around the world to ensure high compatibility and world-class speeds.

ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme

As their name suggests, the ROG Maximus Extreme motherboards are the top of the line enthusiast motherboard, and the new Z690 versions are no different. With DDR5 support, 24 + 1 teamed power stages for up to 105 amps, MicroFine alloy coils and premium capacitors that are cooled by a solid, cold-forged heat sink, the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme is prepared for completely new performance and cycle heights to reach. With ASUS-exclusive software such as AI Overclocking, AI Cooling and Fan Xpert 4, everyone, from beginners to power users, can get incredible speeds and experiences from this highly anticipated Intel platform.

And the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme isn't just designed for mind-blowing CPU overclocking. The aforementioned ASUS Extended Memory Profiles are also supported by OptiMem III, a circuit design developed exclusively for ROG motherboards that carefully routes the memory traces across the PCB layers to reduce the signal spacing, and it adds shielding zones which significantly reduce crosstalk.

In addition to its top performance, the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme also has top connectivity, including onboard WiFi 6E, 10 Gbit and 2.5 Gbit Ethernet, PCIe 5.0 M.2, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 2 front panel connector Thunderbolt ™ 4 support and multiple USB Type-C® ports on the back. With these lightning-fast connections, players spend less time waiting for files to load and more time playing. And in online matches, the ROG SupremeFX ALC4082 sound chip with an ESS ® ES9018Q2C DAC delivers crystal clear sound that helps players identify the positions of their opponents and get to the top of the leaderboard.

The ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme also comes with the brand new ROG True Voltician, a USB oscilloscope that lets you view voltages, clock frequencies, and more. This device connects to the Extreme via USB and displays the VCore, VCCIN and System Agent rail values via the OSC Sense headers. The accompanying software can even run on a nearby PC to help users diagnose problems that may be preventing another PC from starting.

And even those who have never used a motherboard like the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme needn't be intimidated. The patented connection panel is already pre-assembled, and the graphics card slot is equipped with the PCIe slot Q-Release to make it easier to remove the graphics card. BIOS FlashBack ™ allows the BIOS to be updated without a CPU or memory installed, and the Q-Code display shows troubleshooting messages to help users when they are having trouble starting their new gaming PC and put into operation. This is only a small excerpt from the technical possibilities that ROG offers to make PC construction accessible to everyone. Because while ROG mainboards are designed to break all boundaries,

ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme Glacial

The Glacial version of the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme has the same performance as its sibling, but goes a step further for water cooling enthusiasts. In collaboration with EK, Republic of Gamers has developed a transparent monoblock that not only covers the CPU socket, but also three M.2 slots on the board. This design glows with ROG's new AniMe Matrix ™ LED display, which can be customized to visualize personalized text, animations, system time and date, and even music. Combined with a 2-inch LiveDash OLED, Aura Sync and four RGB headers, the ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme has a literal rainbow of RGB options to make any gaming system look unmistakable.

Then the lower half of the motherboard is cooled and protected by an eye-catching galvanized heat sink with a luxurious finish. And thanks to an innovative new inverted slot mechanism, users don't have to remove this heat sink or its water cooling to access the M.2 slots underneath.

ROG Maximus Z690 Apex

For users looking for a highly optimized, high-end motherboard that offers liquid nitrogen cooling and extreme memory module speeds, the ROG Maximus Z690 Apex is the right choice. By reducing the number of DIMM slots to two, the Apex has practically unbeatable signal integrity for its DDR5 memory module slots and is designed for speeds of up to 6600 MHz. It also has a slow mode switch, a jumper for LN mode, temperature sensor headers, and eight ProbeIt measurement points to support every aspect of overclocking.

The Apex also features the unique ASUS Auto-Extreme Technology, a manufacturing technique that allows all soldering to be done in a single pass. This ensures better overclocking stability, cooling performance, energy efficiency and longevity of the product, as well as higher voltage thresholds.
