ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has introduced the Falchion Ace HFX, a 65% analog wired gaming keyboard engineered for precision and customization. This compact peripheral integrates arrow and navigation keys within a streamlined 315mm chassis, closely resembling the footprint of a 60% keyboard while maintaining full functionality. The keyboard employs pre-lubricated ROG HFX magnetic switches, which are designed to deliver consistent performance and an enhanced typing experience. Additionally, the Falchion Ace HFX features an 8000 Hz polling rate, significantly reducing input latency to 0.125 milliseconds, thereby improving responsiveness during intensive gaming sessions. The keyboard’s build incorporates five layers of cushioning, including two PORON® and three silicone layers, which effectively dampen keystroke vibrations and minimize noise, contributing to a quieter typing environment.

At the core of the Falchion Ace HFX are the ROG HFX magnetic switches, which offer a customizable actuation range from 0.1 to 4.0 millimeters. This adjustability allows users to fine-tune the switch sensitivity to match their specific gaming and typing preferences. The switches are constructed from high-quality polyoxymethylene (POM) plastic for the stem and lower casing, and polycarbonate (PC) for the upper casing, ensuring durability with a lifespan of up to 100 million keystrokes. The walled stem design enhances switch stability and protects against dust ingress, promoting long-term reliability. Users can adjust the actuation points through a rear-mounted multifunction button and touch panel or via ASUS’s Armoury Crate and Armoury Crate Gear software, providing versatile customization options to optimize tactile feedback and performance.

The Falchion Ace HFX also incorporates advanced features such as Rapid Trigger technology and Speed Tap mode to enhance gaming performance. Rapid Trigger allows the switch to reset instantly upon upward movement, enabling rapid key presses essential for actions like strafing in first-person shooters. Speed Tap mode prioritizes the most recent directional input when opposing keys are pressed simultaneously, ensuring immediate and precise direction changes without delay. This mode can be activated by pressing the Fn and Tab keys simultaneously. The keyboard’s high-speed USB microcontroller supports an 8000 Hz polling rate, facilitating faster input updates compared to standard 1000 Hz keyboards. Connectivity is further supported by dual USB-C ports, allowing users to connect and switch between two computers seamlessly. The Falchion Ace HFX is equipped with a protective cover that doubles as a wrist rest and features adjustable feet offering three ergonomic tilt angles to accommodate various typing positions. Available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, the Falchion Ace HFX is priced at approximately $234 USD and can be purchased through specialized retailers, online stores, and the official ASUS webshop.
