ASUS Prime AP201 was built for microATX motherboards and offers a good balance of size and compatibility. The AP201 supports graphics cards up to 338mm in length. Both side panels attach with a simple but secure locking mechanism that allows tool-free access to the inside of the system.
ASUS today announced the Prime AP201 case, which features a sophisticated and minimalist design that prioritizes compatibility and comfort. This new DIY PC builder platform breaks the convention of its compact size and offers support for large coolers, graphics cards and power supplies in just 33 liters of space.
The size users want, the space they need
The ASUS Prime AP201 was built for microATX motherboards and offers a good balance of size and compatibility. With a total volume of just 33 liters, it takes up much less desktop space than a typical ATX tower, but still offers the necessary headroom for high-end components. For building a powerful gaming PC or a content creation powerhouse, the AP201 supports graphics cards up to 338mm in length. That's enough space to accommodate even the best graphics cards like the ROG Strix GeForce RTX™ 3090. When aggressive CPU overclocking is to be tamed by an AIO cooler, radiators up to 360mm long can be attached to the top to achieve the highest performance. And since the AP201 can accommodate ATX-sized power supplies, DIY PC builders have a wide range of options for powering their system.
The AP201 not only offers the space that large components need, but also the practical features that allow for a stress-free build process. Both side panels attach with a simple but secure locking mechanism that allows tool-free access to the inside of the system. The extended motherboard tray features strategically placed cutouts and offers a generous 32mm of cable management spacing for a clean and tidy interior.
The fun of the function is coming back
Many users are looking for cases that offer a view of the system components. No wonder, because after carefully selecting the parts for your PC, the ARGB LED lighting e.g. B. synchronized the graphics card and laid the cables carefully, it is only logical that they also like to show this work. A tempered glass side panel is one way to achieve this, but it doesn't provide a path for the cooling air that high-performance components need.
To provide users with exceptional airflow and a unique perspective of the components inside their PC, the sides and front of the ASUS Prime AP201 are equipped with a metal mesh type filter. The square mesh acts as a wide air intake, providing cool airflow for all internal components while the hardware is on display. User-installed ARGB LED lighting looks particularly impressive with the moiré patterns created by the parallel lines of the mesh.
The two color options offered by the AP201 provide a clean backdrop for the build. For those who like to customize their components with RGB LEDs, the all-white model is the perfect solution to accentuate lighting effects. Combined with ASUS components and peripherals in Moonlight White, the result is an elegant, distinctive setup. Alternatively, the black variant offers an understated look that can be easily combined with a variety of components. In both cases price-conscious customizers can combine the AP201 with an ASUS Prime motherboard; the black and white aesthetic of the Prime Z690M-Plus D4, for example, perfectly matches both color variants of this case.
Ready for great connectivity
Many of today's devices are equipped with USB Type-C®. This versatile port can be used to charge a device, share screen signals, access high-speed external storage, or connect peripherals like a gaming headset.
The Prime AP201 offers a USB Type-C port on the front that supports 10 Gbps. There are also two USB Type-A ports and jacks for a microphone and headphones, all located on the front rather than the top - the most practical layout for a desktop PC.
The new standard for microATX cases
Small doesn't have to mean cramped. The ASUS Prime AP201 makes efficient use of its dimensions and offers a convincing balance of performance, elegance and comfort. The metallic mesh side panel provides wide airflow and a prominent window to internal components, while the all-white or black design provides a clean aesthetic. The slender 33-liter case has a compact profile and still offers space for large graphics cards, 360mm coolers and ATX-size power supplies. And thanks to the USB Type-C port on the front, convenient connections are within reach.
