ASUS launched their new PA279Q ProArt Series WQHD AH-IPS LCD display, a 27" screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution and 99 percent Adobe Wide Gamut RGB. The screen offers 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angles, 350 nits brightness, 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 6ms grey-to-grey response time, integrated 3W stereo speakers, 9-in-1 memory card reader and a six-port USB 3.0 hub.
Outputs/inputs include DisplayPort In, DisplayPort Out (with multi-display daisy chaining), HDMI, dual-link DVI, 3.5mm audio-in, 3.5mm audio-out. ASUS today announced the PA279Q ProArt Series WQHD LCD Monitor, a professional 27-inch display that is factory pre-calibrated for uncompromised color precision, straight from the box. The PA279Q has a native 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution with 109 pixels per inch (PPI) for greater image detail and a larger on-screen working area. AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) display technology gives a bright and vibrant image with 178-degree wide viewing angles.
Factory pre-calibrated for unmatched color accuracy
The PA279Q is pre-calibrated at the factory for unmatched color accuracy (?E<2) and features independent six-axis color control with outstanding color space reproduction — 99% Adobe Wide Gamut RGB, 100% sRGB and 120% NTSC. In addition, the PA279Q supports Gamma 2.2 for PCs and Gamma 1.8 for Mac; and has 10-bit ‘deep color’ for more natural transitions between different hues. The PA279Q also features a brightness rated at 350cd/m² and 100,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio for enhanced image contrast to deliver the darkest black and brightest white shades. A monitor hood attachment is also supplied for shielding the display from bright ambient light for even greater color accuracy.
With a native 2560 x 1440 WQHD resolution and 109 PPI, the PA279Q provides significantly larger on-screen work area and sharper images than a 27-inch Full HD display. The ASUS PA279Q is LED backlit and features AH-IPS display technology for 178-degree wide view angles, reduced energy consumption, superior color accuracy and increased backlight transmission for an overall brighter image.
Comprehensive video inputs with PIP/PBP support
The ASUS PA279Q has DisplayPort, HDMI and dual-link DVI-D ports, and can display content from two video inputs simultaneously. DisplayPort allows users to daisy chain up to three monitors for a multi-display workstation from one video source. Picture-in-picture mode displays content from a second input in a window in one corner of the screen, while picture-by-picture mode splits the screen down the middle to display content from two separate sources side-by-side. The PA279Q also features two built-in 3W stereo speakers.
The PA279Q has a built-in multi-format memory SD card slot and a six-port USB 3.0 hub for convenient pass-through connectivity at speeds up to ten times that of USB 2.0, with compatible devices. One USB port also supports SuperSpeed Battery Charge for accelerated USB device recharging than standard USB 3.0.
Exclusive ASUS features
The ASUS PA279Q includes a host of exclusive ASUS features that allow professional users get the best results. ASUS QuickFit Virtual Scale displays on-screen guidelines for an actual-size preview of images prior to printing and two user-customizable shortcuts for frequently used monitor controls, removing the need to navigate the full on-screen menu system for functions such as brightness control. These, along with other monitor options, are accessed via a user-friendly five-way control on the monitor.
The PA279Q is VESA-wall mount compliant and comes with a versatile stand with full tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment.
