We've seen speculations about two separate new power connectors for PCIe expansion cards, one with 12 pins and the other with 16 pins. The former looks to be used in future video cards, as evidenced by the fact that a cable is provided with the company's new power supplies. 

In contrast to the 12 pin plug used by Nvidia on their Founders Editions of the Ampere GPUs, this PCIe 5.0 power connector is slightly larger. In conjunction with the introduction of four new power supplies in the RoG Thor series, this was revealed. There are three different Platinum II models available, each with an output of 850, 1000, and 1200 watts. Furthermore, there is a Titanium version with a power output of no less than 1600W. These power supplies are intended for systems equipped with the most up-to-date processors and video cards, which can require a significant amount of electricity.

As an example, the RTX 3090 graphics card, which can consume up to 940 watts at its max, is employed. The upgraded power supply units should be able to resist these kind of spikes without experiencing blackouts. The 1000 watt Platinum II power supply will be available in the middle of next month, with the 1200 and 1600 watt power supplies following later in the calendar year. The 850W model will also be available in the first quarter of 2022; however, pricing has not yet been determined.
