With the introduction of Intel's twelfth generation Core CPUs comes the expectation of a new generation of motherboard chipsets. Since the new CPUs and (part of) the new motherboards are expected this year, it is reasonable to assume that the manufacturers have already decided on their product line-up in significant part internally.
This appears to be the situation with ASRock and NZXT, as VideoCardz appears to be involved in a significant portion of the planning for both companies. As is customary with ASRock, we observe a plethora of versions that are divided between the many product lines and chipsets available. Unfortunately, the true high-end models, particularly the Taichi versions, are still absent from this compilation. Despite this, there are no fewer than 36 different variants available, all of which are based on the Z690 chipset.
Just in the Phantom Gaming line alone, there are now six variants of this, with two being itx and the other a micro-atx configuration. However, it appears that ASRock is offering at least one itx option for each chipset, which is fantastic news for lovers of small form factor computers.
The table also includes information about NZXT's future goals. In contrast to ASRock, this manufacturer typically only produces one model of each chipset (or even generation). As a result, it is surprising to find a N5 model alongside a N7 Z690 (as the 'N7-Z69XT' would most likely be referred to). This series, which is likely in a lower position, has never been published previously. Overclockable Alder Lake processors and Z690 motherboards are expected to hit the market in the second half of 2021. In 2022, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is projected to feature mainstream chipsets. Below the table overview as created by videocardz.
