Both ASRock and Gigabyte have started releasing new BIOS updates for their X399 Threadripper motherboards. For some of the ASRock X399 models as well as the Gigabyte X399 Designare EX, for example, you can spot this.
Threadripper 2000 is up and coming, and we already mentioned that existing models of X399 motherboards would become compatible with a firmware upgrade. That now seems to be the case.
If we look specifically at the Gigabyte BIOS Release F10, you'll notice
- New AGESA for upcoming CPU support
This new BIOSwas issued only days ago. Threadripper 2000 with up to 32 cores would see the light of day somewhere next month. I just had a quick peek, there's no activity at MSI just yet, but that firmware as well should see an update soon. I am not 100% sure, but I think the compatible AGESA code will be 1.1.0.0
