AOC is to release the I2481FXH and I2781FH monitors soon. These comes in an extremely thin and slende design with even nicer bezels. Both are IPS based. They  use 23.8” (I24) and 27” (I27) LG AH-IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels with a 60Hz refresh rate and 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) resolution.

They also offer a very nice 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 250 cd/m² typical maximum luminance, 178°/178° viewing angles and 6-bit + FRC colour support. A ‘relatively light’ matte anti-glare screen surface is employed, providing a less grainy image than on older IPS models. A flicker-free (DC dimming rather than PWM) WLED backlight is used to offer ~sRGB colour gamut coverage. A 4ms grey to grey response time is specified, with adjustable ‘Overdrive’ featuring allowing users to alter the level of grey to grey acceleration used.

The rear of the monitor is equally minimalistic, with glossy black plastic featuring heavily. The ports include; 2 HDMI ports, VGA and a 3.5mm headphone jack. To keep the monitor as slender as possible there are no VESA holes and an external power converter (DC power input to monitor) is used.

The models have MSRPs of £139 and £199 plus VAT, respectively. The smaller model is now available in the UK and Europe. We will look to provide a review of at least one of these models.
