Last week in the Radeon RX 6800 reviews you've been able to see the mixed results with SAM, Smart Access Memory. The technology appeared to be exclusive to the red team ecosystem, however, AMD now states it will make it possible for NVIDIA and Intel to take advantage of the technology in other Hardware configurations.
AMD stated in an interview that they are collaborating with Intel to make this feature compatible with RX 6000 series GPUs and the latest Intel CPUs and motherboards. The same goes for the Ryzen team, which is working with NVIDIA to make Smart Access Memory work with GeForce GPUs. For now, the technology is pinned down to specific Ryzen 5000 CPUs, X570 motherboards, and RX 6000 GPUs combos. AMD stated there will be a good deal of development and optimization needed to gain performance with this technology.
