AMD has officially released the Radeon RX 7800M, a high-end mobile GPU based on the Navi 32 architecture. The GPU is now listed on AMD's website, confirming its availability, although there has been no formal announcement or marketing for this product. The RX 7800M is part of the RDNA3-based Radeon RX 7000M series, which also includes the RX 7900M (Navi 31) and the RX 7700M/7600M (Navi 33). Positioned between these models, the RX 7800M features 60 Compute Units (CUs), equating to 3,840 Stream Processors.

This configuration is identical to the desktop RX 7800 XT, but with modifications tailored for mobile performance, including a reduced memory bus width of 192-bit and 12GB of GDDR6 memory. The card uses 18 Gbps memory modules, providing a maximum bandwidth of 432 GB/s, and it includes 48MB of Infinity Cache. In terms of power, the RX 7800M has a GPU clock speed of 2145 MHz and a total graphics power (TGP) of 180W, which can boost up to 200W in certain conditions. This places it close to the flagship RX 7900M in terms of power consumption. Performance benchmarks suggest that the RX 7800M can outperform the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Laptop GPU but falls short of the RTX 4080 Laptop GPU. Despite its competitive positioning in the mobile GPU market, the RX 7800M's release has been understated, with no promotional efforts by AMD. The lack of fanfare mirrors the limited launch of the RX 7900M, which has been seen in only a few products, such as the ONEXGPU2 external GPU. The RX 7800M is expected to fill a gap in AMD's mobile GPU lineup, particularly in the upper mid-range performance tier.
