We're only two weeks away from the Ryzen 5000 series processors announcements, yes 5000 aka ZEN3. AMD published a video in which Lisa Su, CEO of the company, promises that we will see a record performance in the next series.

"For the sake of customers and fans, Ryzen is always on the path to promoting our computing and bringing it to higher standards, and with Zen 3 this will be possible," said Lisa Su. Zen 3 architecture will make it possible to reach new heights in performance.

AMD's upcoming processors are expected to feature a 17% IPC improvement and a new high-end model offering a 10-core, 20-thread configuration, which is something Intel won't like. That is all speculation though. Zen 3 is based on TSMC's improved 7nm process, with at least a 15% improved IPC, expectations are higher.

AMD will have two launches in October first the arrival of Zen 3 on October 8th and, at the end of the month, with the announcement of the RDNA 2-based Radeon RX 6000 series.

Meanwhile, there is chatter on the web about a possible Ryzen 9 5900X, with 12 cores and Boosts of 5GHz with a 150W TDP.
