XFX released a new model GeForce 8600 GT recently, and again one from their Fatal1ty line-up of products, this being the second from that line.
So today we'll have a look at that new product line from XFX, with a product which will bring a couple of new features to the existing product line for sure. The Fata1ty Geforce 8600 GT graphics card comes with it's GPU core pre-overclocked at 620 MHz and 256MB memory clocked at (2x) 850 MHz. That's not that special, yet it's doing that while being passively cooled.
Right, so what's happening lately is that NVIDIA has released their mid-range DirectX 10 compatible product line. In the mid-range segment we mainly see the GeForce 8600GTS, 8600GT and 8500GT graphics processors. NVIDIAs GeForce 8600GTS and 8600GT are G84-based GPUs and are targeted at the mid-range market. The lower-positioned G86-based GeForce 8500GT serves as the flagship low to mid-range graphics card. The 8600 GTS will serve a $199 to $229 price point, followed by the 8600 GT ($149 to $159) and the GeForce 8500 GT ($89 to $129).
The current product line looks like this:
- GeForce 8800 GTX
- GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB
- GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB
- GeForce 8600 GTS
- GeForce 8600 GT
- GeForce 8500 GT
- 8400 GS
- 8300 GS
- GeForce 7600 GS
- GeForce 7300 GT
- GeForce 7300 LE
- GeForce 7100 GS
Today we are looking at the XFX GeForce 8600 GT Fatality edition graphics card. Armed with 256 MB memory and a stack load of performance for your bucks to be honest.
