Performance HD Tune PRO

A new test added to the benchmark suit is HD Tune Pro, this was actually a user request which we are more than happy to comply with. Tune Pro is a hard disk utility and benchmarking utility for Windows. This tiny application allows you to scan your hard drives in search for errors or take a deeper look at several performance figured coming from the storage unit.

Time for some precise measuring. So here we measure linear read performance of the SSD and as you can see we average out at roughly 182 MB/sec, very decent performance.

Write performance paints a different picture. Once we start to measure write performance we see figures reach a continued write performance averaging out at roughly 146 MB/sec. Very nice.

The latest edition of HD Tune Pro allows random access read and write testing, a feature not available to other software tools. And this is certainly interesting to observe.

Overall extremely good, though the random IOPS performance seems a little on the low side. This benchmark unfortunately is not a precise measurement. Each run differs a little with fluctuation up-to 10-20%. We tested this on several systems and the IOPS mark is reasonably fast really.

In the write performance run things fluctuated very much. At 1MB we see the 151MB/sec.
