Early this year we were contacted by a company called NZXT, they requested that we review their very promising Guardian pc casing, as we did. At that time and still today, it is a quite innovative and new design for a PC case. The company was created basically because they wanted to fashion unique designs based on what gamers would really want. Being gamers themselves theyve been playing games from Loom to Monkey Island to Fallout to Farcry. NZXT feels like they can connect with the gamers in their market, mostly through their forums, they wish to discuss and complete what gamers really want. With that feedback in mind they build and design PC cases.
Many of you desire a non-standard PC Case, face it... you are a sightseer at Guru3D.com, which means you yearn for the best hardware. One big deficiency though, if you are one of those people who is, well, too lazy to case-mod. Or perhaps you have two left hands, do not like blood, or do not have the time to make a case-mod. Then what to do? Luckily for us there are a few companies out there who saw this hole in the market that needed to be filled. You can pretty much buy anything of your liking these days for very acceptable prices as this market is becoming a huge one; NZXT is such a company. NZXT feels like todays case industry lacks distinctiveness because of the enormous amount of clones available. This is basically their belief and of course they are trying their hardest to build a name and reputation.
Well now, a couple of weeks ago I received a press release from NZXT again, this time announcing their new line of Nemesis PC cases. When I saw the first product photo's I figured something like "man, this thing is going to be a huge hit." A well designed and highly styled PC case with 120mm silent LED colored fans, active heat/thermal monitoring and LCD display. It's buffed with more features like aluminum chassis, the front LED colored "eye" can be set to 7 different colors, great paint job, front panel for USB 2.0, Microphone, FireWire and last but not least it has 9 drive bays (2 3.5").
As the NZXT website states the design concept behind the Nemesis was an armored knight. Hmmm, let's look up Nemesis in the dictionary.
nem·e·sis (nm-ss)n. pl. nem·e·ses (-sz)
- A source of harm or ruin: Uncritical trust is my nemesis.
- Retributive justice in its execution or outcome: To follow the proposed course of action is to invite nemesis.
- An opponent that cannot be beaten or overcome.
- One that inflicts retribution or vengeance.
- Nemesis n 1: (Greek mythology) the goddess of divine retribution and vengeance
- 2: something causes misery or death; "the bane of my life
The Nemesis comes in 5 colors, we received the black one. Optionals (Elite model) can include a power supply unit and the LCD panel / Thermal/Fan control. Let's make it more clear:
-
Nemesis Elite(w/o PS) -- 139,00 End User price incl. VAT
-
Nemesis(w/o PS) -- 89,00 End User price incl. VAT
The main different between two models are simple. The non-elite version is made from steel material, does not have the thermal meter display, has only one front color LED (blue), (2) 12CM fans (side fan is colored and other is regular). In short, you need to go the Elite all the way man.
Alright, enough to think about. Let's have a look at the specifications.

So as you can understand we received the Elite model with the LCD temperature fan/controller. Let's start a nice photo shoot along with information and details.
