Let’s have a peek at what the Team Group MP33 SSD looks like.

The package is very basic (simple cardboard envelope-type box) and it already shows you what the SSD looks like. On the backside, you can find a list of the overall features, so nothing fancy/new here. The performance of the 512 GB version is listed as 1700 MB/s for reads, and 1400 MB/sec for writes, with roughly 200K IOPS at 4k random writes aligned disk access in the case of the model we tested.

Here’s the drive itself. The PCB is blue. Black would have looked much better. The MP33 uses a new generation of Toshiba 3D flash memory (TA7AG55AWV). In a single-sided configuration, you can see a total of 4 TLC NAND. With a total capacity of 512GB, the single capacity is a 128GB version.

The Phison PS5013-E13-31 control chip (the official maximum can provide 2,500 / 2,100 MB / s read and write speed), Teamgroup's MP33 currently launched a total of 5 capacity versions: 128GB / 256GB / 512GB / 1TB / 2TB. The total number of data written is greater than 400TB, with SLC Caching, which can greatly improve computing performance.

The SSD is 8 cm long, which is the standard for M.2. Nothing spectacular here, so let’s head on to the practical part.
