Final Words & Conclusion

Depending on your aesthetic preference the T-FORCE CARDEA II looks great with the provided high heatsink. We do wish that TeamGroup would make an all-black design as that is much more appreciated in the western countries. Performance-wise this is a TLC NAND product, and that does show in some areas (long sustained writes). It should be a good choice for gamers or even heavy users.

Performance

Bandwidth and IOPs are really good, no complaints in this department, and also, we have to remember that it’s not even that important for regular users to be so high up there unless you are performing professional workloads. The SSD is exceptionally good with real-life tests. The temperatures were well under control, and a result below 45 degrees is great, with no unfavorable impact on the drive’s performance.

Conclusion

Aside from the baby blue PCB and red heatsink, this is a good product. We’ve decided to give it the “Recommended” award. We spotted the 512GB version for roughly 90 bucks so we expect you can buy this 1TB version for around 159 USD, and you've seen the numbers: it could be well worth it to you. You also need to remember that the price will most likely drop even further, as that’s what the current market trend dictates. The performance is very, very good. The thermals are excellent, even better than for example in the Patriot Viper 100, which we reviewed not long ago. Even hardcore gamers/users should be satisfied with the CARDEA II. Team Group provides a three-year warranty for the T-FORCE CARDEA II SSD, which has become the market standard. Whereas it’s still more than your typical warranty period in many countries, other companies do offer up to 5 years. Maybe it’s a good idea for the future to extend the warranty period, Team Group? other then that you need to agree on the looks, we have little to complain here. Recommended.
