Here at the front bezel we can find a "hidden" door which you can hide your optical devices. The door is very solid and well weighted despite being plastic with at the front an outer aluminum shell.

There's plenty of space between the door and the bay itself. I can see a device on there with controls and still it is a perfect fit.

Indeed, frontpanel access; Pininfarina style my friends. USB, FireWire, and audio ports. At first you'll have no idea where the front-panel is located, you can easily overlook it, so witty.

We push the lid back with nothing more than slight pressure. When we take a photo from the top point of view you'll get the idea of a perfectly styled casing. BTW the blue material is not plastic or anything, that's a 6.0mm aluminum alloy.
