Conclusion

Conclusion

The reviewed LCS kits performed very decently and handled an overclocked Core i7 8700K processor at 4.8 GHz (albeit we use a delidded one in this review). The cooling test results were fairly similar to those for the Navis 240 Pro version. In fact, the latter was only minimally more efficient (but the 240 version is also louder than its predecessor). The performance is very good, and it's sufficient even for an overclocked processor. The noise levels are good as well. At maximum speed, the SilentiumPC Navis RGB 240 is loud, and at 1200 RPM it’s audible, but not very much. At 800 RPM you can really talk about silence, with only the pump humming slightly in the background.

With RGB support also provided for the pump enclosure, we feel that this series will find more buyers. The coolers look nice, and this applies especially to the CPU block with the pump. As for the wiring, it also looks quite nice, with not too many cables, and it was relatively easy to manage it properly. One remark, though: the tubes should have been sleeved, as the rubber ones don’t look very nice, but at least they bend well. Installation is not time-consuming, and it’s rather straightforward, so most users shouldn’t have any problems with the process. The manual could be a bit better, and by that, I mean bigger images with more details shown. I’m sure some people would find that helpful. We also appreciate the bundled nano-controller for the RGB lighting, which comes in handy if your motherboard doesn’t have any RGB headers.

The Verdict

The SilentiumPC Navis are all about value, the RGB 240 costs 64 EUR, with the 280 mm version priced at 75 EUR. We think that both are well worth the money. So, if you are looking for a value liquid cooler with some RGB functionality, you might want to keep an eye out for the SilentiumPC Navis RGB 240/280, but performance wise you get what you pay for.
