Load testing the PSU
Since this is a kilowatt PSU we could not leave you guys hanging dry. We in fact installed a second GeForce GTX 590 to see the power draw. You'll notice that four GPUs will stress the power supply more, but we'd have no hesitation if 6 GPUs would be supported as well as we only peak at 729 Watt..
This is merely a demonstration test that shows the total wattage in the different tested modes. With four GPUs during gaming we peak to a blistering 729W, granted that could have been worse.
Interesting is that under this load the PSU did not get warm and even after a couple of minutes of gameplay the fan still did not activate. We had the PSU outside a chassis in this stage though.
