The number of resources present in Rise of Nation is also numerous. These includes the food, timber, metal, oil, wealth. Four of these resources can be gathered by appointing citizens to them. But wealth can only be gained by caravans. Caravans are trained in the Market. These caravans moves through your different cities and generates wealth. The more cities and caravans you have, the more wealth you will generate. In addition to all of these resources, you will find Rare Resources which are spread through out the map. You can order a Merchant to get benefit out of this rare resource. These rare resources benefits you depending upon their type.

Graphics wise the game meets the current standard of graphics and the graphics don't appears outdated. Infact its a combination of both 2d and 3d graphics, as the map and units are 3d therefore the movement of map is quite smooth. On the other hand the building are 2d to give good detail to them, as if they were in 3d then it would have been impossible to give them that detail while maintaining reasonable frames per second. All in all the graphics seems to be perfect suited for a game like that which offers a lot of things in only one battle field. And that is a good reason as majority of gamers will be able to play this game at higher resolutions without facing slowdowns. The game is very solid and there isn't any problem I had faced yet. The load time are also not long. All in all the game is rock solid.

The sounds are reasonable and the game has an overall good music but it gets repetitive quite soon. The game is however rich in sound and quality of these sounds are good. The Artificial Intelligence mainly depends on which difficulty level you are playing. And it changes when you change the difficulty level, but I will prefer playing first with easy difficulty and then increasing it after understanding the game concepts. As in this game, you will first have to learn and the learning curve is about half-hour to one-hour. During this learning period the game will seem to be quite difficult but when it's over the game will be a breeze to play.

The game offers only one single player campaign that is 'Conquer The World'. It is based on a risk-style game, that presents a whole world in front of you which is divided into several different regions. Your first region will depend on the civilization you choose for the whole campaign. Different regions have different benefits, some regions have got rare-resources, some have got army, some have got bonus-card, some have got wonders, etc. You continue to capture more territories, in the beginning you have to option to capture unoccupied territories but soon all of the territories are captured by different nations. Then you have to fight with them to gain a territory, and taking over a nation's capital results in the take-over of all the territories of this nation and this particular nation is eliminated from the campaign. You can use bonus cards in different battles to get some benefit out of them. And these cards are quire useful.

Once you have conquered all the world within the turn limit, you will win this campaign. Besides this campaign you can play quick battles and multiplayer games over Gamespy or your own local area network.

To build a strong army you need Barracks, Stables/Auto factory, Siege Factory, Docks. Building armies is not difficult you just need resources for upgrades and training troops and tanks. To conquer a city you will need a good combination of army, and that is important. As Siege units can do greater damage to buildings as compared to troops, and in the same way in ground-troops, one must have a good combination of archers and swordsman, when the units are upgraded from Barracks or other military buildings, all of the units are automatically upgraded, but you can only upgrade to a limit depending upon your current age/civilization advancement. Capturing a city is quite easy, first we have to bring the health-bar of the city to zero and then we must have large army as compared to the enemy's army near the city to capture it. Once it's captured, it will automatically enter you national border and your national border will expand. Capturing the capital city of the enemy will result in eliminating him totally, or if he is the only enemy in the entire map then you will win the battle. Therefore the prime target must be the capital city of the enemy.
