Introduction
The MSI Vigor GK50 Elite TKL is a keyboard series featuring a classic design and Kailh switches. Two years ago, we had the chance to review the GK50 Low Profile TKL; now it's time to look at the Elite version. It comes in three switch variants:
- Red (which we received)
- Blue
- White
The keyboard offers 100% anti-ghosting technology and 6+N-key rollover. Its frame is durable, made of metal, and it includes a sturdy, detachable braided USB Type-C to Type-A cable. Additionally, the compact tenkeyless (TKL) design—meaning it lacks the number keys from a full-size layout—provides more space for mouse movements, making it ideal for gaming setups
The feet allow three inclination angles - 0°, 3°, and 7°. You can also find a robust macro key and per-key RGB lighting customization feature (which is done via MSI Center software). As for less-standard things, you get a drawstring bag, making it easier to carry the keyboard with you. There’s also a keycap puller (for maintenance) and extra convex keycaps (for customized appearance). As for the Kailh Red switches, they have 1.9 mm pre-travel, 4.0 mm total travel, and 50 gf operation force.
The dimensions are 354 x 140 x 33 mm, and the weight is 617g. The provided USB cable is 1.82m / 6ft long, USB Type-C to Type-A, detachable, using the black, braided fiber. The Vigor Vigor GK50 Elite TKL uses a solid and sturdy metal top frame. Thanks to its compact design (due to the nature of the TKL type of keyboards), you will save space on your desk. The keycaps are made of ABS. The PBT would bring more durability, that’s for sure, but it’s very rarely spotted in the competition offers in this budget.
The keyboard costs $64.99 for the Red and Blue switches and $74.99 for the Box White switches. Is it worth it? On the following pages, we will test the MSI Vigor GK50 Elite TKL in practice.
