Tests
First summary test results with a maximum PPT of 142 W.
TechN's waterblock was a favorite, outperforming potential price competitor HEATKILLER® IV PRO by more than 1.1 degrees. The gap from the EKWB Quantum Magnitude with an even cold plate was 1.26 degrees. EKWB Velocity lost by a 2.43 degree gap. The reason for this loss is the lack of architectural optimization of the water block for Ryzen processors with Zen 2 and Zen 3 microarchitecture. As the temperature reserve of processors remained large, I prepared a more serious task with PPT 170W.
And that's where the TechN waterblock proved to be even better, increasing the distance from all runners. In particular, the gap from the EKWB Velocity was already an impressive 4.26 degrees. At the request of some enthusiasts, I also tested the impact of flow on the performance of the TechN waterblock.
As it turned out, even a half-flow (0.5 GPM = 120 liters per hour) allows TechN waterblock to remain in the lead. This is undoubtedly great news for those who have a weak pump or a circuit with many elements that affect the hydrodynamic resistance.
